George, I have not been following developments in Iraq as closely as no doubt I should have been. (There is so much to follow in the world today!)

Two things, however, DO bother me.

First of all, how many ordinary Iraqis are going to perish, either directly from the missiles or indirectly, through harm done to the country's infrastructure?

Secondly, I notice that comparisons between Saddam and Hitler are being made again (and not just on this thread). Well, Bush compared Saddam to Hitler, and very vociferously so.

So -- why didn't Bush take Saddam out, when that was possible? It's very strange. You have to hand it to Bush: he was an excellent organizer. He got everybody on board. But he was afraid to follow through. So, are we starting the whole thing all over again from scratch??!!
