LindyBill, I notice this judge appears to be near retirement age. Could it be that if the case is borderline, he would rule with MSFT? I think so. It could get really complicated if he rules against MSFT. Imagine the efforts in determining remedies, fines, O/S code availability, offering a competive browser, or possible breakup of company.
He might just not want to deal with all of the headaches he would get if he rules against MSFT (in a borderline decision of course). To top it off, his work could go to waste if the Appeals court overturns the decision, in which case he will look really incompetent.
It looks like a MSFT win to me - maybe just a few harsh words about the companies tactics by the judge.
Just a thought.
