OK, so who else can we rumour is going to takeover GMGC! Let's run with this one for a moment...

Yeh, the Qwest/GMGC option obviously has mileage. Rather than takeover I would expect to see strategic alliance or even new joint venture...

Why?
"Qwest will create a new business unit focused on the
new markets starting in January 1999."

General Magic has called a special shareholder's meeting when - Jan 21. Main purpose to approve increase of the issuable shares. Stresses this would enable them to pursue joint ventures etc. OK, so GMGC isn't going to invest cash in Qwest's new baby - how about some equity? In exchange big, big revenue generator.

Who knows. We'll see.
