I used to think so too, Dan. But eventually I had to conclude that in most cases, no meeting of minds was possible. That is, I think, because Clinton is actually only a side issue; the real issue has been the "character" of those who are anti-impeachment or pro-impeachment (pro-Clinton and anti-Clinton is an oversimplification). The most partisan of the discussants here regard the "other side" as "wicked".

In my personal experience, only the Vietnam War has been as divisive as this whole Clinton free-for-all. The Nixon impeachment did not even come CLOSE to arousing as much mutual animosity.
