Oil may well spike up but IMO it will only stay up as long as it takes the Venezuelans to turn up the spiggot. I gotta feel they are gearing up to take maximimum advantage of this event and will now flood the world oil market with all they can.

If oil can just get up to say $15 and stay there by 12/31 this will be a godsend for a lot of oil companies. I believe a lot of ceiling writedowns can be avoided or at least substantially lowered with oil up at $15 vs., say, $11.
