Jason, Shame on you Mr Lott and the rest of the treasonous hypocrits in the republican party. How about Democrats trying to withhold funding for foreign military operations, while in progress? How about former Democratic speaker of the House Jim Wright and the likes of Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd going over to the enemy side (to meet Nicaragua's Daniel Ortega - now an accused child molester) to plot strategy? Senator Lott just expressed his opinion. What's treasonous about that? I think his doubts are well founded. How can anyone in his right mind take at face value anything Clinton says? I think there is every reason to be suspicious of Clinton's motives and timing. Clinton seems to be worried about offending the sensitivities of the people he is about to bomb, by scheduling the attack on their holiday. How about scheduling the attack on a day that doesn't offend the second, and equal branch of the US government? How about being concerned about offending intelligence of an average American? You may remember the last foreign adventure of equally dubious value with equally "unique" timing - right after his grand jury testimony (which btw is subject of the 2nd article of impeachment). Anyway, what's the urgency? Iraq has never been in compliance with any of the UN mandates. Nothing changed. This game has been going on for about 7 years. If Clinton wants to make sure he has support for the mission, why didn't he go to Congress and ask for authorization? The Congressmen are in town - coincidentally. Joe
