WOW! We can't even get earnings estimates right from quarter to quarter and
Oppenheimer tries to project sales and earnings 5 years out.......Let's put this into
perspective...Who really knows what the marketplace will look like 5 years from now?
Who knew AMZN would even exist 5 years ago?....

I am incredulous!

Mike,

Let me put a personal spin on my experience in retail. I have two retail jewelry stores. Both have seven shopping days left until Christmas and in my business, Christmas makes or breaks the season. I cannot tell you if we are going to have a great Christmas, an average or below average Christmas. Compared to multibillion gross retail stores, we are very small. I am about as much as an insider of these retail stores as one can be. I buy the merchandise, plan the advertising and set the selling prices. One problem this season thus far has been no snow fall. The warm weather has kept people out of the shopping centers. They were not buying apparel for cold weather. It turned cold today. We lieve in the snow belt and received eight inches of snow over night and are predicted to receive six more today. This will help since people here are quite use to traveling in snow. I upped my expectations for this season based on a last minute weather change.

If I cannot determine the outcome of a season with only seven shopping days left, how can Blodget know the profits and revenues in AMZN five years out. I even know what competition I have this year but do not know what new competition will move in next year or old competition will leave.

Blodget does not have a clue but is foolish enough to claim he does.

Glenn
