This market needs underpinning from Saudi Arabia / Venezuela / Mexico.

OSX longs' choice for this group's official acronym? SAVEME.

Apparently half of Iraq's crude -- perhaps all -- will continue to reach the market. If they want to stop bombing now it's fine with me.

UN oil monitors may leave Iraqi Gulf port Thursday

LONDON, Dec 17 (Reuters) - The United Nations could withdraw oil export monitors from Iraq's Gulf port of Mina al-Bakr later on Thursday, industry officials close to Iraqi shipping plans said.

''It is possible the monitors will leave later today depending on the situation. If the United States does not give permission for the next ship to enter Iraqi waters then the monitors will leave with the one currently loading,'' the official said.

This would halt exports from Mina al-Bakr which currently accounts for around half of Iraq's 1.8 million barrel per day of crude exports.
