Another lesson learned, adn as soon as I figure out what it is I learned, I'll share.

re PVN -- for me, the lesson was stop the pain before it becomes terminal (my worst short of the year -- out at 82 w/30 point loss). As MP says, PVN is a good long term short, but as Keynes said, in the long term we're all dead.

IMO, holding short PVN during times of easier credit is foolhardy.
