That sounds great, but I still wonder. MSFT got to where it was at because they got a monopoly through very successful business decisions and the misteps of their competitors. But what does Qwest have in the way to establish the same kind of monopoly? The previous article does make the point that by tying into MSFT that Qwest would be the logical provider for anyone using MSFT products. And the General Magic association is good news. But what about their competitors. Level 3 isn't just going to sit around and not make a good attempt at getting their network lit up. MCI-Worldcom isn't going to go down without a fight.

I am not shooting holes in the arguement. I have faith in Qwest and thats why I have my money in it over Level 3 or anything else. But we need to make sure we watch what the others are doing. As the saying goes, you can tell a successful business man when you see him because he has eyes in the back of his head to keep an eye on whats coming up behind him (or her.)
