"The TLAB got $100 million contract from Sprint. They do not have the
stuff AFCI offer, so they will buy all those equipment from AFC."

Frankly, Frank this makes no sense. If Sprint-Long Distance wanted DLC equipment they would have struck a contract with someone (AFC, LU, DSC, Reltec) for DLC equipment. Sprint and Tellabs have an agreement for backbone switching gear - totally unrelated to AFC. NO LINK WHATSOEVER!! - despite the misguided hopes of many people on this thread.

"Since AFC has won the Sprint-LTD contract also, it may make sense for TLAB make a merger attempt to AFCI."

Why? Where is the connection between a contract renewal by Sprint-Local Telecom Division and Tellabs buying AFC?

If Tellabs was so interested in buying AFC why have they been selling their AFC stock for the last two years!
