jbe - agree with most of what you said until you mentioned that Bush had the international support to get rid of the Iraq problem.

The coalition was not that robust. In fact, had the fighting gone on much longer, we would have had to draw on additional NATO forces and materiel - not something we had the backing to do. The UN had no stomach for taking a Muslim leader out, even Saddam.
