personal update: FOX is still running quite fine for me as long as I remove the "garbage files" (.fcs, qcomm., and quotes.) based on activity. I spoke with a tech rep the other day about a few things: The new upgrade ONLY informs you when there are other updates available; otherwise no change at all and not worth downloading if you are already running v1.5 FOX+ will not allow you to sell the underlying stock with an attached covered call (to leave you short a naked call). This is hard-wired into the Spartan system and requires a phone rep to handle the transaction. Another trading problem I had: I changed a limit sell order as a price was moving. The "replace" command was accepted. However the order was already filled (usually in that scenario "replace" is rejected") and the system left me with a fill confirm and an open order that could not be deleted or changed. The system then would not allow me to sell my remaining shares because FOX inaccurately showed an open order. BOTTOM LINE for me: after reading voraciously of problems with other web based trading programs: etrade, schwab etc etc, FOX is fast and efficient in comparison... Now if only they would provide streaming real time quotes for free!
