We know nothing about Jesus's physical strength. He had apparently been a carpenter and walked a great deal, was in the prime of life, was apparently formidable enough to drive money changers from the temple, but was short enough to ride comfortably on an ass. But he had been beaten, mocked, and deprived of sleep and food. I think any man in that shape would have he needed help dragging a cross strong enough to bear him. Going back to the discussion, I still see no reason to believe that burdens are proportionate to anyone's ability to bear them.
