Although I understand your line of reasoning there, I think you miss the huge revenue possibilities if ebay is going big on selling ad space on their web pages. One thing I don't quite understand is that you put 25% post-tax profit on ebay revenue, I think overtime this can go much higher. Yahoo is predicting they will be heading toward 35%-38% range, and I see that ebay will have a better operating margin than yahoo due to the fact that they don't have to expand their content as internally as Yahoo. 'Viral Growth' in today's Wall-Street Journal comes to the mind.
