<ot> Dear Richard, well, your line of arguments is quite common, so there isn't much more new ground we can cover [of course, you are entitled to the last word <vbg>.]
Food for thought. I am at work [well, I am actually on my lunch break] and maybe you too [at work, that is.] While my co doesn't care much [but it certainly doesn't encourage it] if I get on the net now and then for non business [discussing the President may be very important, but I don't think it is a business activity except for pundits and spin docs <vbg.,] so long as I am productive enough to keep my bosses happy. But there are many cos do have written rules against it. Maybe even your co! However, there are a lot of people who would routinely break the rules [that reminds me of a friend of mine, she used to work for a co who requires people to ask for permission to go to the bathroom <vbg>!] Now, it is certainly one's perogative to enforce the rules, but I wonder how many have done so with extreme prejudice.
Or, a simply analogy close to *home*. Mohan/SI has been gracious enough to allow us to make o.t. posts here. Is it against the rules? It seems that way. Are we doing it? Yes. Should it be encouraged? Probably not.
Anyway, have a great holiday season.
best, Bosco |
