Business/Entertainment Editors
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 17, 1998--Entertainment Technologies & Programs Inc. (OTC BB:ETPI), a fully integrated entertainment and amusement gaming company, today announced that it is developing a web site for Vision Quest Productions, ETPI's live concert promotion division.
The web site will include on-line booking services, a calendar of upcoming events, ticket sales or links to other web sites such as Ticketmaster (Nasdaq:TMCS) for tickets and venue information, and links to on-line retailers such as Amazon.com (Nasdaq:AMZN), CDNow (Nasdaq:CDNW) or N2K's Music Boulevard (Nasdaq:NTKI) for music sales of featured acts.
Jeff Thornton, division president of Vision Quest, stated, "Vision Quest Productions does for the military what SFX Entertainment (Nasdaq:SFXE) does for the civilian sector. We have produced over 400 shows worldwide, including cover bands, comedy showcases and national acts."
ETPI Chairman/CEO James D. Butcher commented, "Our focus in the past has primarily been in concert promotions for the military. The web site will allow us to broaden our scope outside of the military into more civilian-based promotions and corporate productions." The web site is currently under development and is anticipated to be on-line by January 1999.
Additionally, Vision Quest is proud to announce several major concert signings for New Year's and 1999. Contracts for New Year's concerts were signed with the R&B duo, Christion, and the Pepper Williams Project. Christion shows will be held at Kunsan and Osan Air Bases, Korea, and Naval Air Facility in Atsugi, Japan. The Pepper Williams Project will play at the Marine Corps Base in Iwakuni, Japan.
Vision Quest also announced a major routing in various military bases in Korea and Japan with R&B recording star Jeffrey Osborne, in February of 1999. In addition, the very popular rock band Blue Oyster Cult has been signed for concerts on military bases in Japan in May of 1999. Vision Quest will again promote the very successful China Lake Jazz Festival in May of 1999.
