He had clear contempt for the Libertarian leader, and I recall him prefacing his shutdown with, "You know, that's always the problem with you people...", or words to that effect. Lots of Americans have some Libertarian tendencies. It ties in to traditional American populism. However, the party leadership itself is a bag of bad-hair losers.
