Not too long ago the majority of conservatives would have held the same views as Maher, and been against the agendas of the Moral Majority and so forth. This is known as goldwater conservatism to many. You don't have to go to the cabin-dwelling loonies to find conservatives who want the government out of private affairs.

Although, since private sexual affairs seem to be all you guys get interested in here, you sure as hell are not Goldwater conservatives. Nor are the current libertarian leaders, who themselves have dived deep into Monicagate.

Maher wants nothing to do with the Libertarian party per se as it is now. I suggest you watch the show more often, or write him, if you doubt that. He couldn't have been more clear that he thought the Libertarian leader was a nut.
