The only silver lining in the Dem recontrol of congress is that the right wing nutcase agenda of the GOP has scared away many that used to be republicans into the Dem camp. Example some Dems from out here, Ellen Tauscher is one (who I cant stand, because she voted for impeachment) however she is a Dem who is only a Dem I feel because in order for her to align herself with the republicans she would have to be a fundamentalist Christian. The republicans where SLAUGHTERED in California this November and I think 2000 will be worse - even some institutions like Tom Campbell better wise up and start talking to the electorate or else he will be out. The old tax and spend Tip O'Neill democrats really dont exist that much anymore... the Dems are now the moderate party thats the good news.
