I've met people who claimed who were liberals who claimed:

1) not claiming rental income on people who rented rooms in their home

This seems to be very common, probably as common as the Nanny tax that people don't pay.

2) once met someone who claimed she claimed her retired parents as employees of hers then used their ATM card to make withdrawals

3) not declaring tip income

4) declaring a different tax home than where they live in order to pay lower income tax or property tax or both

They really need to discard the current tax system, and lower the tax rates and combine it with sales tax. Fewer people would be able to evade taxes.
