Wow. Every day I try to tell myself that I am lucky, that other people have it far worse, and I should thank God that this is all I've got. This morning my dad called and said his wife is back in the hospital again, she had another seizure, they think, and they did an emergency CAT scan and it looks like the tumor is bigger. She just finished the radiation, still on chemo (thalidomide). She is almost completely aphasic. He wants me to come home for Christmas, and I have been sitting here like a big wuss thinking, but if I fly all the way to Baton Rouge I'll get tired and then I'll hurt whine whine whine. And now you are telling me so matter of factly about what must be completely agonizing.

I feel kinda . . . petty right now. Thanks. I needed that.
