INSCI Corp.'s COINSERV -TM- for Windows NT
Named Product of the Year by Imaging and Document
Solutions Magazine

Based on an Extensive Review and Evaluation of Competing Products

WESTBOROUGH, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 17, 1998--INSCI Corp. (Nasdaq:INSI - news), a leader in
innovative digital storage, Internet and integrated electronic commerce solutions for managing and distributing high-value
business transaction documents and reports, Thursday announced that its COINSERV™ for Windows NT software has been
named Product of the Year in the COLD (Computer Output to Laser Disk)/ERM (Enterprise Report Management) category
by Imaging and Document Solutions magazine.

The prestigious annual award was announced in the magazine's January 1999 issue (currently in circulation) and was based on
extensive review and evaluation of competing products from leading COLD/document management providers. Product
evaluations were conducted by the magazine in consultation with Doculabs, in independent industry analyst firm, and various
other independent consultants.

Based on the Microsoft® Windows NT server, COINSERV for Windows NT is an integrated suite of products. It includes
electronic archival and retrieval, document and report management, workflow management, imaging, data mining and other
functions that facilitate such pacesetting applications as processing electronic commerce transactions using Internet-enabled
documents.

In making the announcement, INSCI Chairman and Chief Executive Officer E. Ted Prince, Ph.D., said the company decided
two years ago to make a significant strategic investment in the development of COINSERV for Windows NT.

''This award clearly recognizes the technical and functional superiority of this suite of products,'' Prince said. ''In addition, the
increasing worldwide sales of COINSERV not only validate the investment we made in the product, but demonstrate growing
market acceptance and greater reliance on this technology to drive a wide spectrum of Internet-enabled applications and
business programs centered around electronic commerce. This can be seen as an expanding number of existing customers and
partners are incorporating COINSERV with its Web-enabled capabilities into both their business operations and technology
offerings.''

Among INSCI's strategic partners for COINSERV are Unisys, Xerox, Fuji/Xerox, Moore Corp., Storage Technology Corp.,
First Data Investor Services (FDIS), and edocs (bill presentment and payment).

Frank Palermo, INSCI vice president of engineering and development, commented: ''The Product of the Year award reflects
the industry's recognition of COINSERV as the leader in its class. This is an important honor and validates our on-going
commitment to remain the leader in this marketplace with a proven, robust product portfolio that incorporates the most
innovative technologies and functionality. As the newest addition to the COINSERV family of products, COINSERV for
Windows NT incorporates the features and functionality that our customers have requested to streamline their business
processes and give them competitive advantages.''

''According to various industry analysts,'' Prince added, ''the market for Windows NT products is expected to grow at over
100 percent per year and digital document repository software in this area is expected to grow at an even faster rate. In order
to maximize the potential market and sales for COINSERV, we continue to actively sign strategic marketing and licensing
agreements with companies in a wide range of industries including banking, financial services, telecommunications, insurance,
utilities, manufacturing, healthcare and government. Each of our customers and partners need to offer their customers
Internet-enabled document solutions in order to keep up with the competition.''

COINSERV for Windows NT capitalizes on INSCI's extensive experience in developing document archival and retrieval
systems. It supports multiprocessor, enterprise-class systems and employs magnetic disk, RAID storage and high-density,
low-cost optical disks in a client-server environment. It has an easy to use administrative interface and takes full advantage of
the Windows NT graphical user interface and monitoring capabilities.

Imaging and Document Solutions will be posting product award winners on their Web site in the near future. They can be found
