Your theory re Ericy buying Qcom shares at depressed price would make complete sense, except that Ericy would have to file SEC report (Form 13D) when its ownership gets to only 5% of the shares. It would then have to mount a hostile tender offer. To do so would subject it to tremendous questioning as to its motives and the validity of its 3G position.
