[Re: Big Money]

That would not surprise me. Between all the selling of stock with profit in october (causing much pain for Mutuals owners) and IMO probably heavier than usual tax selling (why not offset all those gains) / portfolio tidying, there will probably be a strong January affect to put money to work.

By the way, consistent with my title "Mad Bomber", I have quintupled my position in WSTL the last week. I wish I had done so in October, but have had a cash inflow recently. Also, I have quadrupled my position in ORCTF. Call it gut instinct. Below are a few snips of my thinking:

-Big Boys really want ADSL - MSFT, CPQ, DELL, Baby Bells, etc. I wonder if Bells have even been stalling to hold out for best possible deal from FCC and are just doing test runs and infrastructure buildup for massive deployment. (I think ORCTF could be stalling as well till costs go down from silicon in Jan. - could be source of Dr. TEchs suspicions of disappointment of GTE - See earlier post)

-I never noticed it, but the guy who was in that BA patent announcement is on the WSTL Board. That sure seems cosy. Someone enlighten me on duty of board members, but isn't he obligated to guide WSTL in the right direction? Sure seems like he would be in a good position to do that

-WSTL mentioned in BA add "manufacturers rebate". Not much mention, but at least we know for sure of CPQ/BA/WSTL relations. Could Dr. Tech's MOU's be correct and just not announced? Also, his prediction of analyst move just came true yesterday. If half of his other statements come true, I think he would very right about risk/reward ratio.

-WSTL/TXN relations might actually start to bear fruit. I remember when AMTX had some customers. Where are they going? WSTL?

-WSTL/LUCENT - See earlier post.

-Great article about public's preference for phone companies over cable.

-Other product wins at GTE, couldn't hurt relationship

-Many references to possible ALA/WSTL relationship. Hey, if you can't beat them, join them. ALA seems to have won a bunch of tenders. I am a consultant and have seen the scene before. Big guys promise the moon and then subcontract half the project because of scarce resources.

I think WSTL has just suffered from lack of news. Since they do not have profit, they will gradually drop without news, especially in this type of nervous/throw everything into DELL/MSFT/CSCO/INTEL flight to quality world.

I think XDSL will be big in 99' retail and business. I am crazy but what the heck. If it pans out, I will semi-retire in DEC. 99!
