I posted this back in Oct...worth reposting...According to "Nancy", BC is definitely using ALA...So maybe, just maybe ALA will be bringing in WSTL for the DMT ADSL solution????

Hi Rich
I have made a few calls and have been told that the Alcatel modem has been installed in our Toronto and Montreal offices and will be used on a go forward basis. Alcatell will be used for all new connections, even in Ottawa/Hull and Quebec City where ADSL is already available.

Hi Nancy,
Thank you for the update. You say that you will be using Alcatel modems in all new areas. Is that something happening now ? Are you actually using any Alcatel modems now or are you still using Westell modems? I was under the assumption that you were still using Westell modems since Alcatel modems were not ready yet?
I appreciate the update.

Hi Rich
At this time, no. We are just beginning to use the Alcatel modems and have no reason to believe, from our trials, that there is a problem.
The modem was the reason for our delay in releasing the ADSL service however we fell confident that the ALcatel modem is ready.
