[buy puts, sell CCs, short against the box, sell stock] >> maybe i'm reading this wrong, but isn't it the other way around? after big drops (Oct 87, Oct 97, Aug/Sept 98) VIX skyrockets. After long, continuous runups VIX stalls out very low around 20. This happened in July 98. Is this right?
