I use Instinet at work and CMGI did trade in the high 90's but never reached 100 in after hours. MM's rarely buy after the close without some new info. On a day like today you would never have a MM open a NEW position after the close unless he/she wanted a visit from the boss and be forced to explain. If you check after/before hours trades you will continuously find terrible trades and losing positions. Rarely do you have a situation like yesterday in AMZN. More often than not you have a position like today in AMZN where people were selling at 30 points down only to find that the stock never did tank and in the middle of the day it was actually positive. After hours trading is for two kinds of people: 1) The monumentally stupid (the majority) or 2) Those taking advantage of the first. A great example for this thread is to look at CMGI. Ever notice how it trades incredibly high or low before the open and then goes the other way.....? It is rarely a valuable indicator of the direction of the stock. Having said that, however, I remain long and believe CMGI will hit a new intraday and closing high before the split. Good Luck All!! Jon
