Good Morning HPAS: You make a very good point and welcome to the thread.
The outcome of these results is really unpredictable. Last time preliminary results were released, the stock price tripled. Some people may have even expected worse and as such the results are as meaningless to us in the larger context of the company's strategic future, as they must be to our two new Vice Presidents. In any case, most shareholders are already firmly focused on the future of Financial Intranet as evidenced by the superb comments made by our new friend from the Emerald Isle, as pointed out this morning:
"I purchased 5,000 shares last week, but am considering adding to that after next Monday's meeting. I first heard about FNTN on the PronetLink (PNLK) board several months ago.
As an executive in Ireland's largest corporate services ISP, I see a huge potential for Financial Intranet and like everyone else, am very impressed with the team that they are putting together."
How is it, that the folks over in Europe, (Holland, Ireland etc) seem to recognize the enormous potential here, better than some in our own back yard can?
As I suggested before, something pretty big must be going down, if an economist with considerable talent and credibility from Holland, can, after visiting their offices on a brief due diligence scouting trip, see such awesome possibilities for this company as laid out in his report to us.

Could MS, already well recognized and respected for his technical abilities in the field of Video and Multi-Media and FNTN, be putting together a Dream Team of expertise in all the relevant fields that will enable FNTN to become what Siemens wants them to be, ie:
"A Multi-Media showcase and a conduit for new emerging technologies and applications"...in other words to potentially provide the most cost effective and competitive Intranet solutions, (incorporating state-of-the-art Video and Audio) available anywhere, with near plug and play, (thanks to Siemens / 3Com tie up?) and easily scalable installs, custom designed to one's own exacting requirements, (thanks to new VP-T, AS?), in what stands to become the hottest new emerging area of the "Next Great Growth Wave in Internet and Intranet communications".
I was explaining the Internet to a friend tonight and how easy it has become to communicate instantaneously to and from anywhere on earth and then it hit me:
"Within five years time we will all be communicating in real time, almost automatically by audio and video on Intranets and the Internet.
If ever there was a company poised to capitalize on an emerging trend, it has to be Financial Intranet. Perhaps this is why Alan Spar describes his impressions of FNTN, as quoted:
"I am very excited to be working with the FNTN team. Not since the early days at Netscape have I seen a more dedicated and smart group of people. I am here at FNTN because I believe in the business. With my experience, I could write my ticket almost anywhere. I have read a lot of business plans and I am hard to impress. I am impressed with the direction of FNTN and the dedication of the people involved."
If the brilliant yet simple concept of a browser enabled Netscape to become a 5 Billion Dollar company overnight in what at the time was the most successful IPO in history, then the company that can provide the "Video Browser" for the next century could eventually enjoy similar fruits of their labors for themselves and their shareholders.
Obviously Mr Spar in his guarded comments, must be seeing something mighty special, if he is proclaiming the similarities in dedication and smarts to the early days of Netscape. This is big news: Every startup company in the World wants to emulate Netscape.
Could we be so fortunate as to have some of that pioneer ethic within our midst, just waiting to explode. Maybe that is why FNTN enjoys such a loyal following. Once again it is worth repeating the highly significant comments made by Bob Grenier of Siemens Information Systems and recognize the incredible value of his statement, now backed up by the appointment of Siemens Divisional Vice President, Mr. S. Weller, to the board of directors.
"Siemens-Nixdorf, Inc. OEC, the Siemens computer division's Multi-Media development arm considers FNTN a Strategic Partner, as do I. FNTN is one of our first Multi- Media customers in North America. My goal is to make FNTN a Multi-Media showcase and a conduit for new emerging technologies and applications...a goal shared by my European counterparts".
As shareholders, I believe we should all appreciate the fact that much of this impressive development has been conducted on a shoestring compared with the multi-million dollar losses of the average Internet high flyer with little potential to show for it thus far.
Some of their losses have been nothing short of staggering in comparison to FNTN's meagre expenditure, which still leaves them with just shy of a million in assets, not to mention the Computing Infrastructure that has been assembled and the potential value of the combination of all of the intellectual property that has been compounding over the last few years.
It certainly must position the company as possibly being of extraordinary value to any company involved in the hardware or connectivity side of Intranets. With such a tight control of costs it should not be lost on investors the rapidity with which this company could become not just profitable, but extremely profitable as outlined by our economist friend from Holland. If he can foresee such potential, most here would be thankful if 10% of that were realized.
Notwithstanding the current hunger for unprofitable Internet high-flyers of all and sundry: If FNTN is in fact able to become profitable before the latter part of 1999, it could potentially be a lot more profitable, a lot a sooner than most of those Internet companies may ever manage to be.
I am merely trying to thread together what I consider to be the important and riveting pieces of information gleaned from this great thread and present it in a meaningful way, in an attempt to summarize what has transpired in recent days.
Have a great weekend
Rgds to all
