Any justice system requires penalties for those who lie to the court.

X, have you gotten a divorce? No? Ever been a defendant in a criminal or traffic case? No? Well, then I guess you can pick up that stone. Lots of folks lie in court about sex! Cops lie about what goes on in arrests all the time. It's expected. No big deal. The court ain't a church and Billy-bob ain't no exception.
