[Advanced Radio Telecom Offers Internet Services to Phoenix Businesses]
ART Officially Launches Second Metropolitan Area Network
BELLEVUE, Wash., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced Radio Telecom Corp., one of the nation's fast-growing broadband wireless Internet Services Providers, announced today that it is offering high-speed Internet services to businesses in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
ART is a facilities-based, broadband ISP providing a direct connection between the customer premise and the Internet. For most companies, this eliminates the need for having two separate vendors -- one for Internet services and one for dedicated access. In addition, by integrating broadband wireless and fiber optic technologies with a packet-switched IP and ATM network architecture, ART can provide small to medium-sized businesses with tremendous value for advanced Internet communications products and services.
More than 25 companies in the Phoenix area have signed contracts with ART, and ART is already providing service to a number of the companies.
''The demand for high-speed, reliable and efficient Internet services continues to become a critical issue for more and more businesses,'' said Henry 'Harry' C. Hirsch, chairman and CEO, ART. ''To stay competitive and enhance productivity, many businesses are viewing dedicated high-speed access as a basic requirement today, and a catalyst for growth moving into the next millennium.''
ART's offering combines a high-speed connection to the Internet or Intranet with enhanced services such as e-mail, web-hosting, IP Fax and domain name registration so that businesses can do ''one stop shopping'' for all their data services. ART offers businesses the ability to connect to the Internet at speeds up to 10 megabits per second. Generally, access speeds this fast are available only to users who have direct fiber connectivity.
''We have come a long way in a very short period of time,'' said Hirsch. ''We have excelled in the implementation of our business strategy, and we couldn't be more pleased with the market acceptance of our high-speed, dedicated Internet access service.''
ART successfully launched its broadband metropolitan area network in September in the Seattle-metro area, where it converted 85 percent of its pilot customers into commercial customers. ART has since signed contracts with an additional 40 customers in the Seattle-metro area. |
