trying to predict the future???

Well I'm happy to hear your opinions which SI will now sell under the category of what knowledgeable technical types are thinking about the future.

Unfortunately I think good ideas fight their way to the top in most corporations. That is as true of Novell as it is of Microsoft.

There is however one difference between the two companies that shouldn't be overlooked if you are putting your money into either of them. The difference is simple to understand. Microsoft has 17 billion in cash, 95% of the client market, a majority of the application server market and is sitting in Federal Court in Washington because it is a MONOPOLY. Novell is a much smaller company fighting to survive against the odds.

Please send me email on the day you smash up your PC and embrace a PDA or Web-enabled appliance for all of your computer needs. Incidentally MSFT has this appliance OS called CE and is in bed with the TV folks and is manufacturing telephones and possibly even PDA's. Novell isn't in any of these markets in any significant way.

Good luck with your investments.
