Just because we are all human and capable of behaviors like this, does this mean we don't ask more from ourselves, strive toward an ideal? That we can't hold people, particularly our leaders, who go on and on about honor and duty and integrity and sacrifice, to a higher standard? You are wrong. Lying in court IS a big deal and must not be tolerated. Otherwise the entire judicial system becomes a farce---which is precisely what is happening.
