While I think Ericy may be looking to buyout Qcom, I doubt that it will be successful. At these price levels, Ericy can acquire 5% of the stock in a few trading days. Then, it must file a Form 13D. One it files a Form 13D, the jig is up and the price skyrockets; therefore, upon acquisition of 5% it would have to immediately move to a unfriendly takeover. A U.S. based company would then enter the bidding war. Then, it becomes a question of to whom Qcom is most valuable. Is that Ericy? Well, in some ways, perhaps, not because it has the most to gain but because it has the most to lose. This is not a good position for it to be in. However, Ericy still ends up having to fight cdma if another company were to purchase Qcom; Ericy still ends up on the short stick.
