Smart Export (according to the help file) will maintain data with splits, symbol changes and data corrections. MetaStock format export is still limited to 255 symbols. Smart export also works with TC ver. 3 format, which of course doesn't have that limit. Nice feature for WOW users. One other new feature in this update is the ability to import a watchlist from other formats.
