Just a short note.

This article finally gets to the point that everything that I have heard about NCs seem to miss: open standards, interoperability, and the multiuple sourcing of the product and its parts (like PC clones). No, I do not think this is the same as: "it would interoperates well if you used *my* server on your network", or "that popular word processing software that you been using as a standard in your company does not work on *my* machine, but I have a version you can purchase that does" or "yeah, parts are available....from *me*".

I do believe the NC has its place. However, I suspect the result that materializes will be a disappointment compared to many people's expectations.
