Good point! I hadn't thought of that. I wonder if the moderate Republicans have thought about that too? Of course, they might have no choice. They've got to kiss Delay's ass now, but, as you say, it doesn't mean that they won't be replaced by some fundamentalist doughnut in 2000.

If that happens, if the Republican Party really gets clobbered in 2000, and it goes just to the extremists, we may just get a three party system, with the Democrats being the dominant party.

Hopefully, Clinton will survive this impeachment so he will still be a fund raising source for the Democrats. After that??? The 2000 election campaigns are going to be nasty!
