Patrick, i'll agree with most of your "answers", but V2 was unique- it was significantly faster than anything out there. Perhaps V3 will be faster than anything out there, but the question is will it be significantly faster? In addition, every computer sold, EVERY SINGLE COMPUTER SOLD, was a potential upgrade customer. Now there are millions of people with V2, SLI, Banshee, TNT, etc- the marginal gain of going to V3 is not as big as the move to V2.
So V3 provides only marginal gains in performance vs. competition, marginal gains vs. SLI, and a smaller incremental improvement over the stock card found in any newer PC (and that is the customer for V3- not very useful in a p166mmx).
That said, I am longer than ever (just about) thanks to my STBI position... |
