Good find! I had heard rumors, but I guess
SGI plans to make it a product.

GSN is basically eight serial HiPPI lines
tied together to form one interface. The
Cray folks have a lot of experience in this
sort of thing. As you probably know, SGI
bought out Cray two years ago.

This would not be a small machine that could
generate 800Mb/s sustained. A cluster that
could do something like that would costs
several millions of dollars.
