Zenith and Oracle cozy up to 'nettv

"At last weeks Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Zenith anounced a deal
with Oracle's Network Computer subsidiary to offer a series of Internet TV
products, including set-top boxes and integrated TVs. The products'
interactive features will center on Network Computer's NIC system software.
Zenith's netvision Internet products, set for delivery later this year, let
viewers surf the World Wide Web and send and receive multimedia e-mail. The
two companies are also reportedly trying to hammer out a deal for Zenith to
manufacture Oracle's upcoming Network Computer."

As the war for the worlds eyeballs escalates new partnerships are urgently
being formed.
CUBE's parking lot must have luminaries coming and going. Digital Video HAS
to be at the center of any new hybrid info appliance that becomes a success.
How long till a MAJOR partnership involving CUBE is announced.

If Marimba's IPO is a HOT story for '97 and push data moves to the mainstream
doesn't the WWW become more like broadcast TV? Doesn't this give greater
tools for TV to compete with PC?

If the E4 is almost ready what new markets await? Would they go into new
camcorders?

I look for increasing need for a wireless alliance between CUBE and someone.
MPEG2 or E4
on a smartphone anyone?
