Bob, I think it is extremely dangerous to ASSUME what Jesus would have said about anything!! The fact is that he said nothing about homosexuality, period. He did say quite a bit about loving others, however. If you are going to make assumptions, it seems to me that it would be safer and much more logical to assume that he would think that any committed, monogamous union between two people who loved each other was very beautiful. It seems pretty hard to imagine that he would have anything at all to do with the current climate of hatred and violence against homosexuals created by the CHRISTIAN religious right in America.

Caring about the downtrodden, and most particularly suggesting that a life of poverty was the highest religious practice, are pretty radical today. How you can assume that he would not register as a Democrat is quite curious. It is equally hard for me to imagine him being a Republican!! It seems like you have a picture in your mind of who Jesus was that comforts you and reinforces your personal beliefs, but is certainly open to debate as to its accuracy.
