Talked briefly with Mr. Bateman this morning...
He was optimistic about a number of potential acquisitions in Mexico, and mentioned that these properties are attractive not only to Dakota, but also to many resource companies. Bateman claims that, after comparing the properties to those owned by other companies in close proximity, he believes those being eyed by Dakota have a much greater potential. Dakota is looking at over 30 properties, and once they can get around ten high-grade properties, it will be economical to go into production by servicing them with one mill. The time line? Mr. Bateman was reluctant to say, but it will be "soon", and property owners are very willing to enter into agreements. Obtaining rights to work the properties is expected to go smoothly once this is a viable operation. "It shouldn't take long to explore and assess the properties." Being knowledge-deficient in geological exploration, I have no idea if we'll be waiting for weeks, or months, or years.
I asked about the encouraging assay results, and he said they were going to try having samples assayed in Canada so that the exchanges will allow their release. Apparently, the lab that did the assaying was Mexican, so they are not permitted to release the info. So no numbers to speak of...
Why was geologist Robert Bryant recruited to check out the properties? Apparently, he had worked with the company on a South American venture in the past, and he "happened to be available" at the time. Not much more on this person. Jens Touborg is currently busy in Indonesia and working for Coleville, but is expected to return this weekend. DAK would like to get him working for them in Mexico soon, but I didn't get the details of his roles at this time.
Mr. Bateman is "hoping there will be a news release next week on some Canadian properties" the company is looking at. That would be the Timmins and Yellowknife properties.
I urge anybody wanting to know more about DAK to call Bob Bateman at (403) 221-7715. He can be a bit elusive unless you ask specific questions, but at least he sounds honest and sincere. No promotional hype and rhetoric. And news releases always come out on time as announced. Sometimes I wish there was a bit more promotional activity, but at least the company is doing its job...
