You could be absolutely right ... I see that the power circuit people are anticipating new generations of cells in their control chips ... and if there are no packaging issues (?), adoption could be very quick. We'll just have to see.
If we work backward from having sold 750,000 - 3 mln batts, to getting the new models on the shelves, through production cycles, through tooling up to build the new cells into batts, through design, through decision, through analysis, through eval ... well, that's a lot of cycles by different parts of an organization. All this stuff takes time. Everyone has a right to their own guesses. It sure ain't DSL though!
I've seen a lot (more than 50) designs through to consumer widgets in volume production ... if I decided today to put LiPoly in a widget, I think I could be shipping it in 6 months ... 3 months, no.
What's the price comparison? Forsee any pushback on price? |
