CSCO and Cylink announced a partnering regarding development of CSCO based net security. See ( www.cylink.com) "partners" CSCO. "SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 12, 1994 -- Cisco Systems and Cylink have announced a joint partnership to develop a family of LAN and WAN security products. The first product, router-based packet encryption software, will be available in mid-1995. The two companies will integrate Cylink's Enterprise Security Architecture into Cisco's Internetwork Operating System (IOS), resulting in the development of hardware and software security modules that will enable Cisco's family of internetworking platforms to control data access and ensure information integrity and privacy. " Andrew, note the 1994 date. The first time I read this I thought it was 1995! The length of time involved leads me to thinks that a CSCO/CYLK marriage is less likely.
