My god. Did you know that I actually had a conversation with Jimmy once years ago. Yes, this is true. I actually talked to Jim Rogers. I have to report, however, I made several mistakes in the conversation...the first one I made was mentioning George Soros. I think I really got off on the wrong foot. The conversation quickly went down hill after this...

Sadly, I have to report that Jim has a very abrupt telephone personality for someone who went to Yale. The conversation ended when I was told I didn't know what I was talking about....something I have learnt perhaps only very slowly in my life.

I take my conversation on the phone with Jim as a kind of moral lesson, or perhaps it was a parable of something I have not yet had the time, or intelligence to figure out.

I was left with the impression Jim knew much more than I knew. He was light years ahead of me and, inevitably perhaps, I was wasting his time. "Goodbuy," Jim said. And that was how he exited my life.

There are, however, so very very few "investment professionals" who will express their own opinions about even a restaurant to go to. Maybe as a breed they don't have opinons. But Jim is a stand out like Marc Faber in Hong Kong. Basically, Jim is a great fount of wisdom when viewed from afar. A great source of Macro ideas and inspiration. Like every investment professional he wins some and looses some.

Sould we believe Jim Rogers? Do you believe Alan G.??? Who can you believe these days?

The only question here is will Jim Rogers die broke???

Well...my very best to you Tom.

Clark
