<< Whatever message Livingston wanted to send, I don't care. >>

Livingston should have stepped down. Republicans are setting the standard for holding office. Livingston lied under oath, his marriage oath and his oath to God. In my mind, that is perjury.

Is it a reason impeachable for congressmen? I don't know the rules for congressmen, but I don't think so, except for Republicans.

Livingston is saying that "his" getting caught cheating on his wife is a reason to quit his elected position. If he really felt that bad about his adultery, he would've stepped down long before he got caught.

I don't condone adultery. But, each person's private life is very complex with many issues. Perhaps both man and wife are staying together, for the children, but do not like each other any more and want companionship outside of their marriage, by mutual agreement.

If we make sexual affairs a hot political issue, congress will never get anything done!
