[Examining the evidence. . .]

<<<Is Amati saying we are picking up the pace?>>>

Jim --

Your thinking is right on! Let's continue examining the evidence.

* Cioffi publishes definitive DMT article, laying Amati's goods on the table. Why now?

* Amati announces DSLAM and stock soars. Why? What does this change? Does this mean more to the RBOCs and ISPs than most realize? Does this make them players with RFPs where they weren't before? In other words, what doors does this open?

* At the annual meeting JS publically says we need two more partnerships: datacommunications and telecommunications (he said it a week earlier, too, in the Bloomberg interview). He indicates they're working hard on the selection and hope to have an announcement early in the year.

* Any announcements with a material affect on the company must be out before the end of this quarter, Jan. 31, or they'll have to wait till after earnings come out in February.

* TeleChoice pre-announces Wednesday news. (My guess---BT with an all-DMT contract. This would explain WSTL.)

Besides this, I've heard from two guys in NY who say they expect an Amati-related announcement tomorrow. That's all they'll tell me---and believe me, I tried getting more. No hints. None. Zip. Nada.

As for the stock at this moment in time, there's a wholesaler called Sherwood who's hitting the bid with everything he's got. He either has a big seller or someone shorting it. I've never shorted so I don't know how these things work.

Did we say volatile???? :))

I'm hanging on. Will probably buy some calls here pretty soon just because I can't stand being left out of the action.

Regards,

Pat
