Those of you still watching Syncronys. Below I re-typed an article from Maximum PC, Watchdog section. Their web site has not posted the January issue so I couldn't find it in their web site.

Disappearing Big DISK
Dear Dog, I purchased a program called BIG DISK by Syncronys that essentially moves programs from your C drive in to your D drive. In my case, it moved my complete C drive over, then crashed. I called tech support for three nights and approximately $75 in phone bills, but we failed to correct the problem. On the fourth night, the company disappeared. I called all the numbers I had and tried the internet, but everything was disconnected. It costs me $200 to have the computer restored, and I still can't find them. Can you help?
-- Clyde Sherrow
THE DOG Syncronys Software, maker of Big Disk and the infamous SoftRAM 95 , has been operating under Chapter 11 since July. You may remember SoftRAM 95 as the product that chewed up more RAM than it was suppose to free. Although things looked dark for you initially, the Dog was able to reach Lonna Walker, a consultant with Doyle Capital Management which is helping take Syncronys out of bankruptcy.Walker said the company has had problems, but the entire management team has been replaced. Syncronys expects to be out of bankruptcy and operating under a new name by the time you read this, with new products as well. Walker said the company will emphasize customer support and shed many of the doggy titles it carried before. The name change is to lose the bad stink from the SoftRAM 95 fiasco. A Syncronys support technician said he would contact Clyde and provided a new toll-free number-something Syncronys didn't do previously- for users to contact them. The new support number is 888.779.5600.
The Dog contacted Sherrow with the news, but he had already returned the product and said he was greatly dissatisfied with the company. "I bet they never call," Sherrow predicted. At press time, Sherrow said he had still not heard from Syncronys support. Let's hope it gets better. Woof.
