"Take the ORCL/SUNW announcement. The way the press spoke about it, you would think there was a major breakthrough, some sort of new computer that renders all the old computers and O.S. obsolete. IMO however, the announcement was barely newsworthy."

Your statement speaks for itself. Stay short Dale, your knowledge of the new computing paradigm that is emerging will propel you to tremendous achievement in your short position.
