Gary, for EBAY, the lock-up period is only 120 days. The floodgate can open on 1/24/99. From the prospectus:

Following the expiration of 120-day lock-up agreements with the
representatives of the Underwriters, 24,549,579 Restricted Securities will be
available for sale in the public market (excluding those that remain subject
to the right of repurchase)
